Hwy 29 runs straight through St. Helena's downtown where you will find a wide array of restaurants, boutiques and tasting rooms housed in historic stone buildings. St. Helena has been recognized for its agriculture since first being settled in 1834 and it is still considered the hub of Napa Valley's wine industry today. Charles Krug and Sutter Home, two of Napa Valley's most iconic wineries, are both located in St. Helena which is now home to over 150 wineries in total. Known for its Michelin starred restaurants and culinary excellence it is only fitting that The Culinary Institute of America would also be located in St. Helena, housed in an impressive stone building just north of downtown, formerly home to Christian Brother's Winery.
